Like any established best practice, SIAM is documented “common sense”. What makes the SIAM Assessment so special?

Existing assessments focus on the SIAM environment itself, for example on process maturity, but do not consider the SIAM ecosystem as a whole. The SIAM Health Assessment is primarily designed to give organisations an overview of the current state of the entire ecosystem.
Because this is about SIAM, the results provide specific insight into the current state of service integration within the organisation. This applies regardless of whether this function or method already exists explicitly or is only practised implicitly.

We therefore look at the following aspects.

1. What already exists, before creating a feasibility study for a SIAM project.
2. What has already been achieved, during or after a SIAM transformation.
3. In ongoing operations, we can also go into more depth and analyse the causes of existing issues by identifying deficiencies and developing concrete improvement recommendations.

What does such an assessment look like in practice?

As with the SIAM Bodies of Knowledge, the authors aim to provide valuable and free access to resources. For this reason, the SIAM Assessment is structured in multiple stages.

Stage 1: Self-assessment

The first stage is a self-assessment that you can start at any time. The assessment is simple and does not take much time to complete.
However, because this first stage is short, simple and free, it cannot cover everything for everyone. At this level, the assessment mainly provides an overview of the organisation’s current state and, together with the theoretical guidelines of the Bodies of Knowledge, an indication of possible next steps. It does not yet provide specific recommendations, as this would require detailed knowledge of the specific characteristics of your organisation.

Stage 2: Guided assessment by Blueponte

For this reason, there is a second stage in which Blueponte consultants take on a supporting role. This stage builds on the findings of the self-assessment, for example if you would like to review and interpret the results together with our Blueponte experts.

Alternatively, you can commission us directly to carry out an assessment. This has a significantly higher level of detail compared to the self-assessment and allows us to get to the root causes of inefficiencies and to plan targeted improvement measures.

Not everyone can deliver such a SIAM Assessment. This is comparable to professional title regulations. Not everyone is allowed to use the professional title of “therapist” and settle services with social insurance providers.
